Brainy Grid Terms of Use
Last updated: 2026-08-13
Brainy Grid is a graphic-dictation app for children. These terms are an agreement between you — the adult who installed the app — and us, the developer of the app. How we handle data is covered separately, in the Privacy Policy.
1. Acceptance
By installing and using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app — delete it.
The app is directed to children of roughly 4–8 years old and is meant to be used with adult supervision. An adult installs the app, sets up profiles and makes purchases; the child uses the ready-made child flow.
2. What we allow you to do
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable right to use the app on devices you own or control, for private non-commercial use.
You may not: resell, rent out or distribute the app or its content; decompile or modify it; use the app’s content commercially, including in paid classes or printed materials offered for sale.
The dictations, images, skins, dioramas, sounds and texts of the app belong to us or our licensors. The drawings your child makes on paper and the photos of them belong to you and stay on your device.
3. Age and the adult’s role
A family account is created only by an adult — a parent or legal guardian. It is created behind a parental gate (an arithmetic challenge) and only after explicitly confirming their age and agreeing to these terms and to the privacy policy.
Purchases, restoring purchases and external links also sit behind the parental gate. It is your responsibility to keep children from reaching your device and your app store account without your knowledge.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Part of the app’s content is free; the rest is unlocked by a purchase.
- The price, period and conditions of each option are shown on the purchase screen before you confirm.
- A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it. Cancel in your App Store or Google Play account settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- A one-time purchase (the non-subscription option) does not renew.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- All payments are processed by Apple and Google. We never see or store card details. Refunds follow Apple’s and Google’s rules, not ours.
- Access to paid content is tied to your store account. “Restore purchases” brings it back on a new device; a family account additionally carries it across the family’s devices.
5. What the app is not
The app helps practise fine motor skills, attention and understanding of directions. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose anything.
The parent report, the skill profile, the match percentages and the advice cards are informational. A match percentage measures how closely the drawn figure matches the model — it is not a score for the child, their ability or their development. The research linked from the advice cards is reference material and does not describe your particular child. Make health and education decisions with qualified professionals, not on the basis of the app’s numbers.
Recognising a drawing from a photo depends on lighting, capture quality and how the lines were drawn; recognition errors are possible and do not mean the child made a mistake.
6. Availability and offline use
The app works offline: practice, recognition and results need no network. Syncing across devices and verifying a subscription require the internet and depend on the services of Supabase, Apple and Google — we do not guarantee their uninterrupted operation.
We may update the app and change or remove individual features and content. This does not revoke paid access you have already received.
7. Termination
You may at any time delete a child’s profile, erase all data on the device, delete the family account and uninstall the app — the steps are in section 5 of the privacy policy.
We may terminate your access to the family account for a material breach of these terms — for example, an attempt to interfere with the server or to bypass payment.
8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation and are not liable for indirect damages, lost profit or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights that cannot be limited under the law of your country.
Data kept only on the device (photos of drawings, the attempt history) has no backup on our side — its preservation depends on your device’s own backup tools.
9. Terms required for the App Store
For an app obtained from the App Store:
- these terms are between you and us, not between you and Apple; we alone are responsible for the app and its content;
- Apple has no obligation to furnish maintenance or support for the app;
- in the event the app fails to conform to any warranty, Apple will refund the purchase price if applicable; Apple has no other warranty obligation;
- third-party claims regarding the app are addressed to us, not to Apple;
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
10. Changes to these terms
When these terms change we update the date at the top of this page. The current version is always reachable from the app via the “Terms” link on the purchase screen and on the family-account screen.
